Toastmaster TMEG21W 10 x 20 Inch Nonstick Griddle with Cool-Touch Handles Customer Review

The days of cooking pancakes in a frying pan, with the temperature constantly too high, too low, and never the same from one pancake to the next, are over! I should start a pancake restaurant -- they're perfect every time!

The only problem I have with this is that it came with a temperature control with markings in Celsius, but I live in the USA and use Fahrenheit. When I contacted the seller, they said the supplier only had the Celsius versions. I've decided to keep it since it works so well, and since the booklet that comes with it has a temperature guide in both scales, so remembering that pancakes should be cooked at 190 C isn't any harder than remembering 350 F.

It's an excellent griddle. I recently got a laser thermometer, so it's easy to see what's happening when it's warming up. Initially the temperature is very uneven across the surface, and shoots up quite a bit further than what I have it set for -- maybe 250 degrees C instead of 190. But after a few minutes, it settles down to the selected temperature and the entire surface is the same within about 5-10 degrees, even to the edges -- that's impressive. I've noticed that when I want it to be 190 C, I have to actually set it on about 180, so you might experiment and maybe set it slightly lower than what it says on the thermostat. Otherwise the temperature control is great and I highly recommend this.
